About Courtney

I am a Content Manager at LHP Telematics in Westfield, Indiana. You may think it's weird, but I enjoy writing documentation and manuals for software and websites, and creating marketing materials. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Professional Writing and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Purdue University in May 2013. Hail Purdue!

I also enjoy writing poetry and short stories in my spare time (when I have spare time), but most often I have my nose in a book. An avid reader, I will read just about anything, but my favorites are the Harry Potter series and The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and just recently, I added A Song of Ice and Fire to my favorite series list.

I've been passionate about writing and helping others for most of my life. I chose to make writing my career, and have enjoyed every moment of it. I've discovered in post-grad life, you have much more free time than you did in college. I've devoted the majority of my free time through helping others. I am a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha - Eta Pi Fishers, IN chapter. With ESA, I volunteer with Riley Hospital for Children, Easter Seals, St. Jude, and other organizations our members are passionate about.

I also spend a lot of time volunteering and working with the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Indiana. I'm a part of the Blondes vs. Brunettes and Indianapolis Walk to End Alzheimer's committees, a team captain for Team Angel in the Anderson Walk to End Alzheimer's, and I am also a part of the Great Minds Young Professionals group. I lost two grandparents to Alzheimer's Disease, and volunteering with the Association has given me the chance to help fight back against such a heartbreaking disease.

My blog focuses on my passions - writing, volunteering, helping others, and reading. Live passionately, because when action meets compassion, lives change.
